Dulce De Leche Filled Cupcakes

Cupcakes are one of our most fun treats to make. We only need a cake mix and a few ingredients for the kids to enjoy a simple treat. Add something more decadent like Dulce de Leche which is like a kicked up caramel sauce and even the adults' minds are blown…

Dulce De Leche Filled Cupcakes

For these delicious cupcakes we continued using our Devil’s Food mix. I really like using an ice cream server to fill the cupcake tins with cake mix. It’s a lot less of a mess and there are no little-burnt drippings stinking up the house.

After your cupcakes have cooled, poke each one with a whole to make the filling process a little easier especially if you don’t have a tip. You can use chopsticks, and end of a stirring spoon, or just the tip of your bag when you're ready to fill.

The Dulce de Leche is thick inside the can so open it with a can open and spoon it out. I warmed it for 10 seconds and spooned it into my piping bag.

Poke the tip of the bag into the cupcake and squeeze in the caramel till you see it start to expand, it doesn’t take much at all. A small amount will expand out of the cupcake as you pull out the tip of the bag.

We frosted ours with Hershey’s dark chocolate frosting and drizzled the remainder of the creamy Dulce de leche on the tops of the cupcakes.

Take a bite and enjoy!

We took our first bite and were pleasantly surprised. This is really a delicious recipe.
